I live in a college town (Newark, DE). The University of Delaware has about 20,000 students which has had a major impact on certain parts of the local economy. The restaurant business is very active with eateries coming and going all the time. Lots of coffee shops and pubs, boutiques. Since it is a college town there is also an inordinate amount of highly intelligent people living here.
All in all a great place to bring up a family.

I live in Leavenworth, Kansas. It's an old/new military town and there are a lot of run-down buildings. I only moved here recently, but I wonder why people don't care about the places they live in. I mean, some places look like they absolutely don't care and have just let it get worse over the years. This area is somewhat economically depressed, but I think no matter what amount of money you make, you can take pride in where you live.

I live in Wausau, WI. It's okay, but there are a lot of old and run-down homes that make driving through town look bad. There are some nice neighborhoods, and a decent city center, but there is a low cost of living here and people don't take much pride in up-keep. That's my opinion, anyway.
