as a teenager, I have friends that have been on the verge of suicide, which involves even talking them out of it. teen suicide can be because of a number of things, but a bad family background or home situation can be a huge part of it. Lots of things can screw people up, such as divorce, which i know can lead to self harm. Divorce can make kids feel unloved, and feel like there are to a certain extent missed opportunities, no point, no love, guilt and depression.
Abuse is a big player aswell, as it leaves kids with very low self esteem and feeling worthless. if a child isnt shown care or love, and has abuse thrown at them, then they react badly to it, and feel that there is no point in anything. it leads to depression and maybe suicide. "theres no point" because children feel that everything has gone wrong for them and that it will continue indefinitly, so why not get out as quick as possible?
Quite a big proportion of young offenders have bad home lives, which influences them into crime, drug abuse, depression and suicide. Hoem life influences how you are, and if that becomes bad or spirals downhill, its going to have an effect.
If children feel the need to self harm, that can continue and get worse, until it reaches suicide. I hate it when people say self harm is attention seeking because it isn't most of the time. you can only fully understand self harm if you do it yourself or help people that do it. Self harm can lead to depression as it becomes an addiction, to make the person affected have control, and feel real, as if there is something there still.
Overall, teen suicide can be tracked down to home life and family life. divorce, abuse and bad parenting to extremes can be quite big factors. many teens who commit suicide each year have had parents split up. I guess overall its a child's home life, from what i have had to help people with. There are conversations that I don't want to have again with my friends, as it shows how bad some peoples lives can be, to make them feel that way.

Gay kids commit suicide at a much higher rate than non-gay. They get teased, bullied, beaten up, harrassed, called names, insulted, sometimes abandoned by their own parents and thrown out on the street to live on their own at age 14. Suicide seems like a reasonable alternative in such circumstances. I knew 2 guys who committed suicide as teenagers and have always wondered if it was because they were gay.

-feeling like no one cares about them
-sexual orientation
-abuse (physical or mental)
its terrible to see this happen...these people are closed minded and weak and think in a negative light about everything. They need people around them to help them have a positive attitude about life. Of course life is rough but it still goes on and its what you make out of it.
