I have conversations out loud with myself when I am alone. Not only this but I answer my own questions back and also give myself advice. Basically I have an actual conversation with myself like two people. At one time I referred to myself as "we" ( the "other" person I am talking to) and at point referred to myself in third person giving my self another name and also still referring back to my own name, as if two people are talking in the third person.

I know this is weird, but the question I am asking is, is there a name for this condition, or is this a mental illness and if so what is the name of the illness?

This is a common symptom of Schizophrenia. Of course, that doesn't mean you have Schizophrenia. You may, though.

I am bi-polar and have been having conversations with myself for a long time. Even argued with myself a time or two. It is a sign of multiple personalities as well. No matter what it is they have medications to help this. Go to your physician, tell them about it, they can refer you to a psychiatrist or counselor who can help you.

Could be multiple personality disorder or that could just be one of your quirks. I talk to myslef all the time. So does my husband, he drives a haul truck for 12 hours, has to have something to do.

Your bored. I think the diagnosis you're looking for is schizophrenic - 'split' personality. But normally, the personalities are not aware of each other.
