Most serial killers use the knife cause its how they roll. Second would probably be some form of choking. Reason being is that serial killers have this mindset of getting really personal with their victims. Knifing and choking someone is the best way to lash out that personal pleasure or anger or whatever it is that motivates them to kill.

I think a very small percentage of serial killers actually use chain saws.
