About my friend..?

she is introduced to someone from another country and they are kinda attracted to one another, it was a close friendship but now she is confused... he is trying to learn her language and know a lot about her religion (since they have different religions) and ask her about her culture and about herself alot ... she is confused now ... is that mere interest or may be something else?!
