No. The mucal plug will try to rebuild (it'll never totally manage it though!) You're very close to going into labour (less than five days away at a guess) but you don't need to involve the medics unless your waters break - it's only then that you're at risk of infection. This happened to me and I had my daughter three days later - make sure you've got your bag packed!

Best wishes to you and yours x

No, your mucous plug can come out weeks before labor, or right before labor. You can lose it all at once, or a bit at a time. If your water breaks, then you will need to go to the hospital. If you are having contractions, then you might want to go. Either way, call your doctor to let him/her that it came out and they will let you know what to watch for! Good luck!

Your mucus plug will come out a usually week before any labour starts, so prepare yourself cos this is one of the signs that it is gonna happen soon! If you are still unsure ring your midwife just to let her know your baby is getting ready to come out soon. Congratulations!!!!!

Depends if you are having regular, consistent contractions. Also if this is a first child (normally longer labour).

If other pregnancy progressed quickly then perhaps you should call our midwife.

Ignore all of above if you are already giving or given birth.

Please arrange your transport in good time as you do not want to risk yours or the babys life waiting for an ambulance.

No,not yet ,there is no need.

You cannot get an infection like someone said earlier, the baby is still surrounded with water.

Wait until the contractions start,it should be any time now,if you will feel better for doing it,phone the hospital to reassure yourself.

Good luck x

No. This happened to me 6 weeks before my due date and the Dr. said just watch for labor signs. Make sure you are not leaking any fluid and that you are not having regular contractions. They also said that most generally a women will have the baby within four weeks of this happening. If it makes you feel better, just call your Dr.

That would depend how pregnant you are. If you are less than 37 weeks then go right away. It is a sign that the baby is comming. If it is after week 37 then wait it out at home. The baby should be comming soon.

No, they will just send you home unless you are also having regular contractions.
While losing your mucous plug is a sign that things are getting going, you might not go into labour for a week or so yet!

No, after the musuc plug comes out, it means the baby will be born in the next couple of days, so dont get too excited it might not even be today....inform your doctor though she might have special instructions
