My and my girlfriend have been dating since highschool (8 years) I love her and am ready to ask the big question. What is most ramantic way to propose.

Right after mutual orgasm. Put the ring in the drawer of your nightstand (or, if you don't have a nightstand with a drawer, hide it between the mattress and box spring of your bed) and pull it out right after you pull it out, so to speak.

Unless you've got loads of $$$$ and you can propose to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower, then let's come up with other ideas.
We girls, we get all mushy when we see proposals, yeah I know so corny. But you want to do something that will make her cry and go aaawwwwwwww!
Does she have a dog/cat/rabbit? Tie the ring to their neck..
Favorite restaurant? Call 'em up and ask 'em if they'll consider staying open just a little after their closing time, that way, you can propose after dinner and have the place all to yourselves.
Does she have a favorite outdoor spot? Take her on a scenic ride and watch the sunrise or sunset, as you propose.
It's not always about it being a BIG production, it's about how intimate you can make that moment feel.
How 'bout somewhere secluded? A cliff overlooking the mountains/ocean. Somewhere she can feel like you 2 are the only people in the universe. DEFINETELY get down on one knee no matter what the circumstance. Tell her you can't imagine getting old with anyone else, tell her you're a better person because of her, tell her your life only makes sense when she's around, and that you want nothing more thatn to have the daily chance at making her the happiest woman alive. Think about it: what does she like? Here are a few suggestions to help you with some ideas that can be altered depending on how much money you want to spend (if any):
If she is an athletic person, I would suggest maybe taking her on an athletic vacation (horseback riding, rock climbing, scuba diving, etc.) and propose there.
Is she into fashion? Take her to a fashion show, or to New York City if you are financially able.
Want something more traditional? Take her out on a romantic night on the town at a nice restaurant, and arrange with the waiter for your ring (if you already have one) to be put on her desert plate (sounds crazy, but thats how my friend got engaged!)
Another common option that people take is proposing right after they have sex, which is a romantic opportunity that you could take advantage of.
Do you both share a love of the ocean? If you live near a beach, arrange a day trip so you can spend all day with her.
Whatever you choose to do, think about it carefully. How can you make the day she is proposed to extra special, and the most important day of her life?

when my exhusband proposed to me he took me up to this golf course that is on the top of a hill in the town we live in and we went out to this practice gren that has a view of the town.. and even though we are divorced i still go up ther because of how pretty it its.. and i took my new fiance up there.. haha so bottom line its like almost everything "location location location" so somewhere with a view.. out in the country while walking on a nice afternoon... if she doesnt get easily embaressed you can take her to dinner and stand up and scream out " i love this woman!" and then get down on one knee and ask her with everyone clapping.. but if it were me i would be so happy but secretly want to kick your butt.. haha or if you live together and you are pretty sure she will say yes then slip the ring on her finger while she is asleep and act like nothing is different until she notices and runs in and smothers you with kisses and then get down on one knee and just say something sweet like "so what do you think?"

My man wanted to do it with explosions, which I thought would be really original and cool, but risky! He ended up just asking me while we were laying in bed one evening reading. That was the best way possible, it felt right and seemed like the right time.

the time has to be perfect...you should take her out to a fancy restaurant and have a romantic evening and then while you're waiting for the bill pop the question, while telling her that she means the world to you and that you want to be with her forever.
