You can call it XP but I will tell you that most computers that have windows 95 don't have enough ram to run XP so you will have to purchase that as well and depending upon how old the computer is you may need other things as well internally...So I am not sure that you will actually be able to make any money just by upgrading. But you can try...just google windows xp and they will tell you how much, computer requirements oh and I believe that it won't be just an upgrade. I think if I remember correctly it is a complete install..Good luck :-)

If you have a computer that has windows 95 then chances are it is a Pentium 2 with 128mb of ram. If that is the case it will suffer big time with XP; you need a 1000Mhz+ CPU with 512mb ram to run XP with a certain level of comfort.
I would suggest going with Linux which would be less demanding on the hardware.
Also, since Windows Vista is out, I think a computer that is not upgradeable to Vista would be a hard sell.
Unless you are desperate for money I suggest giving this computer away to a cousin or nephew or even to the poor.

Well , many computer repair shops will reload windows for less than the cost of actually buying the software. Windows XP is expensive, around $200. Just depends on if this is a 1 time deal or you plan on doing it a lot. If more than once then your gonna have to pay Bill Gates. As for labeling the computer, List whatever it is , not what it was.

Xp home costs around 100 notes may be cheaper if you look around but before you install it what are your computer specs Xp needs at least a P2 233MHz processor and 64meg of ram and on that it runs slower than a snail you really need a P3 600MHz processor and 256meg of ram to get any where near acceptable performance and yes once it's OS has been upgraded you can call it a Xp computer

You can say with Windows XP. The upgrade from 95 will have to be a full install. Not sure if you will be abel to salvage the data though.

i dont see how u would make extra money this way... but, to answer ur question.
you need to purchase the XP software (anywhere really) and install it. There is no *upgrade*, just a clean install.
that said, u should make sure that your PC/laptop is capable of running XP. Look at the minimal requirements for XP and insure the PC hardware is suffecient... to post just say name of PC/what processor it has and that it has XP.
BUT, you must buy the XP OS for each unit u install on... (thats why i dont see how u will make $$)

First off let me let you down gently, if you are using a system that came w/windows 95, and you attempt to put xp on it you will be severely upset, go to Microsoft .com and look first at the minimum system requirements for xp, i doubt there are any systems with 95 that meet the requirements of xp, now part two it will cost you more to obtain a licensed copy of xp to put on said system than it's worth but however can i suggest something go with windows me it's a good upgrade for a cheap price on a system you intend to resell anyway

When you sell it you will have to describe the hardware and the software. A ten year old PC isn't worth the cost of a copy of Windows XP. You'd be better off to sell it as is.

likely no longer without some significant hardware improvements. residing house windows XP recommends 512 MB of memory, maximum Win95 pcs got here with 32 MB. also, XP calls for a processor % that became exceptional interior the Win95 days. it really is completely more affordable (and a lot less complicated) for him in simple terms to get a clean computer.
