In the UK there is somthing called the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.
This means that the Secetary of State must authorise a warrant for you to have your phone bugged.

(2) The Secretary of State shall not issue an interception warrant unless he believes—
(a)
that the warrant is necessary on grounds falling within subsection (3); and
(b)
that the conduct authorised by the warrant is proportionate to what is sought to be achieved by that conduct.
(3) Subject to the following provisions of this section, a warrant is necessary on grounds falling within this subsection if it is necessary—
(a)
in the interests of national security;
(b)
for the purpose of preventing or detecting serious crime;
(c)
for the purpose of safeguarding the economic well-being of the United Kingdom; or
(d)
for the purpose, in circumstances appearing to the Secretary of State to be equivalent to those in which he would issue a warrant by virtue of paragraph (b), of giving effect to the provisions of any international mutual assistance agreement.

I dont think your phone is bugged, maybe its a dodgy line get BT/NTL/Telewest to check it and fix it.

The police would not bug your phone or track you on the internet with out a good reason. If for so far off chance that they are then as a law abiding citizen you should have nothing to hide so why are you complaining?

Hi Steve, have you said something sarcastic about americans, or used small case 'a' instead of upper when typing america, maybe you used the term fatass or something, they hate it m8t. Oh, your bound to be bugged, both here and in the US by the mind control police, get used to it m8ty. They think we are white al quaeda, don't fret, we have freedom of speech to say bush and blair are demonic warmongering idiots, but cannot say muhammed is a dipstic with a bomb for a turban. So what have you done, have you been buying japatti flour by the tonne or something? Could be MI5 or CIA building up a prophile on you lol

Wrap aluminum foil around your head when you talk on the phone or use your computer. This will scramble the radio waves that the police use to monitor your phone line. You must use Reynolds brand aluminum foil (this is important) and wrap at least three layers. Also you must hold your left hand at a 90 degree angle to your head while doing this and your right foot needs to be soaking in a metal pan with warm water and epsom salt, at least a gallon.

If you didn't break any laws then they are not tapping your phone. If you did break any laws but they were traffic offenses or misdemeanors (and even a few felonies) they are not tapping your phone. Active phone taps are very man-power intensive, which translates into expensive for an agency to run. Your best bet is to call your phone company to send a technician out to your house.

It depends what the Police enquiry is... as mentioned above though, if you're law abiding, they wouldn't be doing it. It's gotta be something pretty serious.

If you aren't suspected of comitting a crime then the police won't be bugging your phone. Trust me, we have more than enough to worry about without wondering what you might be doing on Wednesday night. If you are a crook, then tough cookies.

If you are a law abiding citizen, the police wouldn't have been able to get a warrant to use electronic surveillance.

to track you phone, the police must bring a Regulation of Investigatory PowersAct application which must prove that the person is a serious threat, has, is, or will be committing a serious offence.

If your law abiding they arent tracking you.
