Oh yes you can do that! Go to a salon and have them thin out your hair. They will start at the back and twist a chunk of your hair and take a razor and sorta chop through it to get rid of extra bulk. They will do this throughout the whole bottom/ middle layer of your hair. This will leave your hair so much lighter you'll love it! And since they wont touch the top layer your hair will look like it wasn't cut.

Your stylist can use thinning shears. It's like scissors with a comb on them..then it only cuts some of the hairs to get rid of the bulk.
I have extremely thick hair and I always get this done.

NO NO NO... never wish that, I wished the same thing and my hair is now a complete mess. My edges are receeding really bad and my hair is so thin and boring. I hate it.
The best thing I would recommend to you is to search out a Japanese Straightening Perm. THOSE THINGS ARE AMAZING. My friends gets them shes part black and part korean. Her hair used to be long and frizzy. She looked a hot mess. Once she got this, OMG, she looks so beautiful. It made her hair flat and silky. go to google and type in Japanese Straight perm or Japanese straight perm pictures and theres a website with a gallery with a lot of good photos, the before and afters are amazing.

well.. i think you just need some knowledge on how to talk to your stylist.. first thing.. tell them "I DONT WANT TO LOOSE ANY LENGHT... NOT AT ALL"..because if you say, "you can cut a bit".. for them.. a bit means, up to you.. soo. better say it than you dont like it.. next.. tell them to "THIN OUT YOUR HAIR".. at first i was going to suggest you layers, but you dont like it.. but.. chances are that.. your stylist WILL put layers.. maybe you could ask your stylist to give you a thinning cut that will NOT flick in when you straighten it.. or better still ask styling tips, gadgets, products, etc from your stylist to keep your hair flicking in when you straighten it !

if you go to the beauty shop and ask them to thin it out, they will take small chunks and twist them then use scissors and snip into the chunks but not all the way. it really helps me, i have THICK brown hair but for me it only lasts about 2 weeks.

ask a stylist to use a razor on it...I had that done and it was no more then a regular hair cut...don't worry they don't "shave" your head...they thin out the hair

You should try shaving your head. I think you'd appreciate the convenience, and it would look cute on you.
