Why, if God didnt want Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge - why did he bother CREATING it inside the Garden of Eden then? I mean, how many of you parents out there tell your children to avoid drugs - but leave joints lying around the house? Or, to avoid sex, but leave pornos lying around the house??

To me, this demonstrates that God certainly had a plan - to deceive mankind and fool him, so that he could then blame mankind and cast them out of the Garden.

For an omnipotent guy, couldnt he have just skipped a few steps and simply created us as unworthy sinners, rather than creating us as being perfect then tripping us up so he could blame us?

(this is a repost - last time, I got very few responses, all agreeing with my point.)

God did not want Adam and Eve to sin. God knew ahead of time what the results of sin would be. God knew that Adam and Eve would sin, and would thereby bring evil, suffering, and death into the world. Why, then, did God put the tree in the Garden of Eden and allow Satan to tempt Adam and Eve? God put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden to give Adam and Eve a choice. God allowed Satan to tempt Adam and Eve to force them to make the choice. Adam and Eve chose, of their own free wills, to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit. The result – evil, sin, suffering, sickness, and death have plagued the world ever since. Adam and Eve's decision results in each and every person being born with a sin nature, a tendency to sin. Adam and Eve's decision is what ultimately required Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed His blood on our behalf. Through faith in Christ, we can be free from sin's consequences, and ultimately free from sin itself. May we echo the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 7:24-25, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

God didn't want robots. He wants us to want to be with Him and serve Him. It wasn't that they simply ate fruit but the actual act of disobedience. It could probably have been anything but it happened to be the fruit of this tree.

The Lord has always wanted to have fellowship with us. As crazy as it sounds cause who are we that He would be mindful of us! But He sent His son to reconcile us back to Him. Had he not done that then all Gentiles would have no hope.

I don't think you understand the love of our God. He has given us free will to choose or deny Him. Our choices now will affect us eternally. God is love but there will be consequences for those that deny Him

*The difference with Christianity is that we have the ability to have direct access to God because of Jesus Christ. With the Holy Spirit we are in constant contact with Him. I personally don't like religion or what it has done to people. True Christianity is about serving Jesus, loving others, being pure and holy, and so on. The way is narrow.

This is just one of the many reasons for me leaving christianity.
What kind of Creator plays these games and throws these tantrums? No thank you. I refuse to worship such a thing.
(sorry I know this is just another one agreeing with you)
