I can't imagine pool water being "tasty". Yuck! :-D

I don't think it'll hurt the pup. But try refilling his bowl with pool water. Then everyday, when you change the water, gradually up the ratio of pool to tap water. See if he adapts to liking the bowl better. Also, for now, place the water bowl in the most convenient place for the dog -- perhaps right in his path between the house and the pool.

Otherwise, to the dog, it just maybe the unique, fun thing to drink from the pool.

Probably you are having a problem with the water smelling and tasting weird to your dog. If you live in an area where you get treated city water, there are tons of chemicals in it that we can't smell or taste that a dog can. Many of these things have had time to settle out of your pool water where they haven't for your tap, and the pool water probably tastes and definitely smells better. You could try bottled water (gallons would be cheapest) or just remove access for the dog from your pool.

Put a cover over the pool if you dont want him to drink it. It will not harm him though as long as it is clean treated water and not too much chemicals.

Put sodium in his water (salt)
