Since it's only February 23, it's still at the IRS.

However, since you said you did direct deposit, why is the check being mailed? It should get deposited into your bank account.

They must of been unable to process your direct deposit electronically so they changed it to a check in the mail. Like Boston said, if there is anything that does not match---your name needs to be on the account---a digit was left off or transposed---it will automatically revert to a paper check instead of direct deposit.

It won't be mailed if you went direct deposit. It will be in transit electronically on March 2nd. Mine took 2 extra days after my "promise" date, as my bank is so behind the times.

That's about 10 days, so what's the problem ? Maybe you were under the impression because you e-filed you would have it within 24-48 hours ? Won't happen. They're a bureaucracy ! LOL

Since it is currently before March 2, your refund has not yet been mailed.

Most likely the DD transaction was rejected by your bank. Most likely this is caused by an error on the routing or account numbers you listed on your return. If the name on your tax return isn't a reasonably close match to the name on the bank account, the bank will reject the transaction as well.
