Whilst the word 'holy' does have a link with 'whole' it actually means 'set aside for a specific purpose'
Often, of course, we use words to mean spmething different. As long as the hearers understand that is, generally,OK
The blurb you trot out after the quesstion is rather questionable, though!! And not related to the question.

Yes, I did know that words have meaning. That answers your question. What all the rest has to do with HOLY, (WHOLE) somehow gets by me.
