Your BMI is 17.2, which is considered to be categorically underweight. Your body is craving energy and nutrients because you are young, growing, and probably active (unless malnutrition has caused lethargy). 1200 calories a day in insufficient to maintain proper health, in most cases. A healthier weight for you would be around 125 pounds, allowing for differences in body types (110-135 is a healthy range). If you're even moderately active, at your age, to maintain a healthy weight, you should consume at least 1500 calories a day (I recommend 1800-2000 until your weight is out of the cellar).

I see that your "diet" is carb-heavy and could use a little balancing of macro nutrient levels. In general, your dietary makeup should consist of a 40-40-20 ratio, meaning 40% of your calories come from carbs, 40% from protein, and 20% from fats.

Please consider eating a properly balanced diet to grow and gain for health reasons. You could be doing serious damage to your body.

Hey, we all crave something.

Your diet, minus the junk, looks very sensible and nutricious. Pretty impressive for someone your age. It is a little light on calories though, so I'm not surprised you get the craves now and then.

There's a couple ways you could approach the junk problem.

1. recognize that you're going to have food cravings and plan ahead for it. Carry something with you all the time that will satisfy the cravings without completely destroying your plan. I'd suggest maybe having a couple energy bars, like Clif or PowerBar in your purse. Some of the flavors are really really good and will satisfy you without the sugar high/crash you get with junk food. Yes, its 240 calories you hadn't planned on, but at least you're getting some vitamins along with it, and 240 is far better than 500.....

2. Analyze when you get your cravings. My guess is its in downtime like study hall (or whatever they call it these days) when you're not really busy. Find something to do during those times that either remove you from where the junk is, or keep you absorbed enough that you forget about food. Library? a good book? Whatever....

If you love junk food then eat low/no fat or low/no sugar junk food. Like baked lays potato chips or sour cream and onion rice cakes(they come in tons of flavors). Not everything "junky" is bad for you, just read the bags and labels! Or try some of those slimfast drinks & snacks
