Look at his hair. FORGET THE HAIR COLOR. Focus on the texture/style of it.

2. How can I get it like that most importantly?
3. And my hair is thick. Does his look thick too? Can I still shape it like that?

its funky, you will need to take the pic to a hairdresser to get them to cut yours so it will sit like that, it does look as though his hair is pretty thick so you will be ok, hairdresser will show you how to style it yourself and advise on what products to use, good luck

his hair doesnt look thick. Also it depends on how your hair lays and if you have any cowlicks or not.
