I dont believe in eating pork either. In the bible it is considered a unclean meat and we are told not to eat it. Pork is from pig whos meat is very dirty because pigs are dirty animals, They eat dirt and other nasty things and those things are in the meat that people are eating. There are also little worm-like substances in pork. In plain english, Jesus tells us not to eat unclean foods and pork is unclean.

I don't know why pork is not preferred in the Muslim world. I mean no disrespect; it's just that I'm not familiar with Muslim practices.

I do know that (at least part of) the reason pork is avoided in other cultures/religions is because for a long, long time, pigs were considered to be "unclean" animals. To an extent, that's still true...but pigs are no filthier than any other animal raised as livestock. Pigs have been known to roll around in the mud (I've seen them do it). They do that to cool off.

Also, until fairly recently, pork was often laden with Trichinella spiralis, AKA trichinosis. It's a parasite that can live in pigs' muscle cells, and it can be passed on to humans if the pork isn't thoroughly cooked. In the USA, trichinosis is practically unheard-of nowadays, due to healthier breeding practices, better sanitation, and better preservation practices.

But a couple thousand years ago, the sanitation was questionable, and food preservation was iffy at best (no refrigeration). Also, people didn't have food thermometers handy, so if pork was undercooked, they had no way of knowing it until they ate it. It's entirely possible that a trichinosis outbreak (at the time, under those conditions) could wipe out an entire group, clan, or village. Since the technology wasn't yet available to prevent the illness, or to find a cure, it was decided that the food itself be deemed unfit to eat.

I live in a multi-racial country, Malaysia and the Muslim here do not eat pork. The pork meat is a pig meat. It could be also called a boar. Pork is an animal that is often criticize in the Muslim cultural. It is also usually cursed and spells are place on it. A pig eat anything, from rubbish to faeces. It is quite a dirty animal during those days. A pig is always neglected and not taken well care.

Not eating pork has it benifets too. There are many dirty pig farms here. There are also many disease caused by pig. The Japanese Encephalitis is a very common disease caused by pork. Beta-agonist is also injected to pigs so it will grow faster to meet the demands of consumers.

As a conclusion I would think that Muslims do not eat pork as it is stated in the Quaran about it and it is actually a dirty animal.

I see no reason to not eat pork in today's world. All due respect, but the Muslims are still living in the B.C. era, similar to the way Jews do. Back then, food preparation was not consistent, and even today, if pork isn't cooked thoroughly, parasites could be contracted. In the case of the Muslims, what was at one point good advice became standard law.
