It seems as the winter drags on my cat has developed a case of dandruff. I've tried brushing her and adding linetone to her food but it doesn't seem to help....

My cat also gets very bad dandruff and sheds during the winter. Primarily it's because they are indoors and with so much dry heat in the house, it dries out their skin. Best thing to do is talk to your vet. If you're giving lanatone (and enough for her weight and size) and it hasn't helped, she might be able to suggest another suppliment.

You also might want to try getting a humidifyer to raise the moisture levels in the house. I've been using both the lanatone and the humidifier that while it hasn't eliminated her dandruff, it is markedly reduced.

Sometimes the dehydrating effects of winter heat in our homes dries the cats coat. Look for food with a higher fat content than what she is eating now and brush her regularly to keep it from building up. There are also pet wipes that you can buy that look just like baby wipes. These help reduce the amount of dander as well.

Time for a bath with a good rinse.
That dander can become embedded in your carpet / very hard to remove

you could go to pet co and aSK if they have any type of cat shampoo (which they do,but there are many different brands to choose from so you could choose the one you think is best)and pay for it.If you cannot find and shampoo there they always(I mean always)have some at target.
