It sounds like your driver software has gone kaput...meaning it got corrupted somehow and is not communicating properly with your modem causing it to not work properly. It is either that or you need to update your driver software. You should check at least once a year on all your drivers, windows, printers to get the latest updates so that everything is compatable.

My advice would be to get a computer technician to work on the computer and fix the driver software through a reinstallation and provide any relavent updates.

Some software...like windows comes with the option when you put in the reinstallation disk to click the option repair and then it repairs the damaged files. Though get someone to fix it.

Files corruption...and error mesages can frequently occur when
A: you had to unplug a frozen computer from the wall for a restart.
B: you installed new software that is not compatable with the older software.
C: you haven't updated the driver software in a while causing errors.

Need more information.

Windows Version
Modem type (Model and location: Internal or external)
Type of connection: LAN, DSL or Dialup.

When do you get the error? What do you click and how soon does the error occur?
