Every man is different in the ways that they open up, so not one thing will work for everyone.

I'll tell you how my boyfriend (of nearly four years) and I got to the communication point that we are at now.

We moved in together about four months into knowing one another. Yes it was drastic and probably underthought, but I wouldn't change it for the world. In order to live together and keep our relationship intact, we forced ourselves to get to know one another and learn to share . Instead of simply "figuring each other out" I suggested that every night before we went to bed we tell each other something interesting or hidden about ourselves. It started out as simple things like the fact that I have an aversion towards chicken with bones and he only brushes his teeth in the morning. As days went on I learned things about him that blew me away and revealed to him things that I had never told anyone about my past. By doing this ritual every night, pretty soon talking and opening up became natural. When he gets angry he tells me why and then I let him know what I'll do to make things better next time. When I am excited or happy I always let him know that he's cherished and appreciated.

People wonder how in the world we've stayed together through the years and recently through the loss of our child. Most people shut down and push away, but because we have learned to communicate so well I was able to confide in him and he was able to confide in me. We helped one another heal instead of doing it on our own.

That's only my experience, though.

I hope you find the solution you're looking for. Best wishes.

Coming from a guy who is really quiet when he meets a girl I would say.. just hang around. Eventually he will feel comfortable enough to share feelings with you and maybe he doesn't even realize yet that you have a thing for him. Flirting is always good. Just don't go too far. Take it slow and wait for him to bite.

Face him and inform him that you can't stand it if he won't share himself to you. Maybe that will make him realize that he kept line too much.. all he need to break a line..

Remember he might has a reason why he can't say a word since he has bad experience about it.. all you can give it time or face him how you feel about it.
