Really, there is no way to know, unless you go to the artist, and he does a spot-test somewhere on you in an inconspicuous place...No worries, however, there are very few people that have this allergy. Since our shop opened in 1993, only me and one other person have had a reaction, and the guys do 5-6 tattoos on average a day.

Spot testing is greatly flawed and of little value. You really need to be exposed to something first, before you can DEVELOP allergy to it. It is highly unlikely anything would show up in a spot test at first exposure.
People just don't become allergic to their first tattoos right off the bat. Research tells us that things like extreme sun exposure can trigger a red pigment reaction and generally reactions to red tattoos aren't customary until they are about 6 month old or longer.
A person can have a tattoo (of any color) and then react two years later to a second tattoo with the same pigment color. In fact, it could cause red ink, for instance, to raise up in the old tattoo as well!
Don't let this scare you - it is extremely rare.

you need to get a spot test...I would recommend calling as soon as possible because the color is supposed to stay with your body for 24 hrs before you know for sure if you're allergic.

As far as I know there is no way to know, but I would suggest calling up the artist and asking first. They will know what is possible and what isn't.

get a regular red writing pen. write on urself a little bit. see if anything happens. you might want to let it get under your skin because thats what happens when you get a tattoo.
