The observance of the "Sabbath," the seventh day, was given to the nation of Israel at Mount Sinai by the Lord as part of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8-11; Deuteronomy 5:12-15). The Sabbath was to be a sign of God's covenant with Israel, a day of rest from labor, and a memorial of God's great acts of creation and deliverance. The Sabbath was a good gift of God to Israel, but it was also enforced very strictly, the penalty for deliberately doing unnecessary work on that day being death (Exodus 35:2-3; Numbers 15:32-36).
When God raised Christ from the dead in power and glory on the first day of the week, the followers of Christ were led to honor Him and the resurrection on the first day of the week. Scriptural warrant for giving special worship and honor to Christ on the first day of the week, the "Lord's Day," is found in Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, and Revelation 1:10.
Many Christians and churches believe that worshiping and serving Christ on Sunday in commemoration of His resurrection completely fulfills the requirement of the Fourth Commandment. In this understanding, the Sabbath has been changed from the seventh day of the week to the first day because of Christ's resurrection. It is now a memorial of God's new covenant and His greater spiritual creation and deliverance of the church from sin and death.
Other Christians and churches worship on Sunday but do not believe that Sunday is a Christian Sabbath based on the Fourth Commandment. They believe that the Sabbath commandment is no longer binding upon Christians, since there was no restatement of it for Christians in the New Testament. They rather turn to Paul's admonition in Colossians 2:16-17, "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
We are to have a day that we come apart to worship God. It's a special day set apart for that purpose." In any case, all Christians would agree that our faith is not limited to a day, nor are we saved by being obedient to the rules of a certain day. We are saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; see Ephesians 2:8-9. After we receive Christ as Savior, we have God's love poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit" (Romans 5:5, NKJV), and we desire to worship and serve Him every day of the week.

The sunday Sabbath is unbiblical.
If you want to keep what the Bible says then keep the Saturday Sabbath that has existed since the beggining of time and like the other commandments are a part of Gods character:
Genesis 2: Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. This is the history[a] of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens...
It is not about works, it is about Gods law and character which man CANNOT change but the Devil will try to change.
Remember.......

According to the bible (even christ mentions it in the NT) you should keep it. Whether it is Saturday or Sunday or whatever is unimportant.
As far as Jesus putting an end to the Sabbath he never says this. Check out all the passages quoted here or by anyone else for yourself.
Mark 2:28,Matthew 12:8, Matthew 24:20, Hebrews 4:8-11. The gospel of Luke states in Luke 23:56 that when the body of Christ was being prepared by His followers, they rested on the Sabbath before finishing their work.
Let's not forget the 10 commandments and Matthew 5:17-19.

I see several of us SDA's have answered this...
The Sunday Law came through the Catholic church. The prophecies of Daniel predicted that the Beast would change laws and times...anyone with an open mind and heart can understand the Sabbath was not "done away with" at the cross. Jesus said many things about keeping the Sabbath...not as the Jews did, but as He did. If you love Jesus you keep His commandments. The first day of the week was called Deis Solis by the Romans, and when they took on a Christian-like religion, just as they did with every religion they absorbed, they adapted it to fit their politics and society. Deis Solis was the day Apollo was celebrated, and he was the most popular deity in the Pantheon. It is amazing that Sunday (English translation for Deis Solis) became the "Lord's Day" more than 100 years after the Apostles all died. (Interestingly enough, the name Lucifer means light bearer, also means Day Star...which is a.k.a. the Sun.) Little wonder that it became law when the Pope was given that power by Constantine. So the claim by the Catholic clergy and scholars who are honest, and not trying to deceive you is that Saturday is the Sabbath according to true doctrine, and Sunday is the "Lord's Day" according to their own traditions. Read what the Bible warns about taking the traditions of men instead of Bible truth as doctrine...I have done massive research on this subject, and there is nothing in the Holy Bible that says the Law of God was done away with...but it doesn't save you to keep the Law...Keeping the Law is a gesture of Love and obedience...without the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Grace of God, you will never be able to put on righteousness...your works do not save you. Consider your relationship with your parents...if you love your parents do you disobey them? If you love your parents, do you do your best to make them proud of you? this is the same idea with keeping His Commandments... Now when you are doing your best, and you still make mistakes, do your parents who also love you kill you for making that mistake? When your goal to serve God outweighs your goal to look good to your fellow man, then you will understand about the 10 Commandments...like my fellow answerer said, "Remember..." It is the one Commandment which starts that way, and it is the one Commandment which Christiandom has deliberately forgotton. Whom do you wish to serve?

Paul made it pretty clear in Colossians 2:16-17
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
To hot_air below, according to Ellen G. White in Early Writings, 1963, pp. 32,33, she was carried down to the close of time and saw the Sabbath as the great testing truth on which men decide whether to serve God or to serve an apostate power.
Many Adventist consider not keeping the Sabbath as taking the Mark of the Beast.

Adventist's do not believe that there will not be Sunday keepers in heaven. They do however believe that those who do not keep the Sabbath lose out on many blessings from God.

My uncle is a seventh day advantist pastor of a church and he doesn't preach that you have to do this to enter into heaven. God commanded us to rest on the seventh day because God knows everything and he rested on the seventh day. Even new scientific studies have found that after 6 days of labor if your body does not rest for a day it doesn't get the amount of sleep it needs to work properly. This rest has to be on saturday because God says to obey the laws of the land and all you have to do is count the days on the calendar and when you get to 7 you'll be on saturday. It is God's commandment to rest on saturday and the same as all his commandments he gave them for a reason and it should be kept the same as the others. you wouldn't ask if thou shall not kill is an old law and should not be kept any longer. the bible says that if you break one commandment you have broken them all so therefore they are all the same but just because you didn't rest one saturday doesn't mean you are going to hell it only means that you need to repent. Remember our God is a God of forgiveness and understanding.

Saturday as a sabbath originates in Jewish law.
Are you Jewish?
If not, why would one keep the laws of another nation?
Plus, Jesus put an end to that set of laws which contain sabbath practicing. Please note:
Romans 10:4
Ephesians 2:15
Colossians 2:14
Romans 7:6
They all say Christians are not under obligation to that set of laws.
