Freemasonry is a form of the occult. It is in direct conflict with the Bible, and no Christian should be involved with it. Those who say they are followers of God, and have embraced this group, are deceiving themselves, and believing a lie.
Freemasons acknowledge a Supreme Being, which many assume is God as described in scripture. Yet they do not fully acknowledge the Divine Nature of Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There are different God's that many choose to follow, and most men involved in Freemasonry, don't realize what they've gotten themselves into until they reach higher levels of this group.
Colossians 2:8 - See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
A sure sign that something is Occult related, or not of God, is when there is SECRECY involved. The Lord has provided all that you need in His Word the Bible. He is straight forward, clear, open, and direct about what He expects and wants His children to know.
In contrast, Satan works with secrecy, inuendo, implications, and outright lies. He uses curiosity to attract the Flesh and appease the senses. If you are Christian, stay away from this sect!!
Blessings, Miji

I was brought up in the Christian Faith and have went to church regularly for the last 48 years. I have been Freemason for 28 years and there is nothing to stop anyone from any religion joining the Freemasons.
But if you are unsure of joining, just take a trip to your local library you will find lots of info there.
The Freemasons are one off, and probably the largest charitable organisations in the world.
In answer to one of the other replies you have had, you do not need to be invited to join if you know someone who is a member and interested in joining just ask.

Jesus Christ predicted the New Age when he said there is nothing that we will not find out about before He returns. We will be without excuse. Noone will be able to say he or she didn't know any better.
A freind told me there was an evil group out there, and good people should have nothing to do with it. I said, If it is an evil group. That's all the more reason for good people to get involved and see what is going on.
You could probably learn more by going to the Library than you would from joining the Masons. I hear all kinds of poppycock. But the Original Masons were Stonewokers who knew the power in shapes and symbols, and how to harmonize them. Like Feng Shui.
A Christian however is warned about swearing and taking oaths. These
things create powerful things on a spiritual level. And if one has to break that oath. Evil will come down on them.

solutions: a million. Freemasonry isn't observed as a secret society. this is a social fraternity. in case you pay attention it being observed as a 'secret society' the prospect is powerful which you're examining or speaking to somebody who does not comprehend something in any respect relating to the fraternity. 2. The rituals of Freemasonry are inner maximum. Freemasonry is a social fraternity; they do no longer 'prepare' something - by potential of no potential any kind of religion of mysticism. 3. there is not any longer in all hazard any charge on has to bear, yet there are each year dues. this is a fraternity. You pay dues to be a member of it. 4. Freemasonry is a charitable corporation, no longer a charity corporation. there is not any charity artwork you're 'meant to do' as a Mason ... yet, as a human, you need to consistently be looking out on your fellow creatures in spite of no count whilst you're a member of a fraternity, a church or the rest; look out for others. this is a accountability incumbent upon all human beings. 5. females can't connect. Why? through fact Freemasonry is a FRATERNITY no longer a SORORITY. no person says "each thing is outlined at thirty third degree." Why? through fact there is not any thirty third degree in Freemasonry, there are in simple terms 3 stages: Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and grasp Mason. NOTES: - Freemasonry isn't a secret society, neither is it the idiotic answer of a "society with secrets and methods." this is a fraternity, organic and easy.

I think since so much information about the Freemasons has surfaced recently, despite whether it's accurate or not, that it probably wouldn't be a good idea. Some might think it rather hypocritical for you to proclaim Christianity while associating with Masons.

A christian joining the freemasons would be like a vegetarian eating chicken. You can do it, but the blood will be on your own hands.

Its very obvious by most of the answers here, that evangelical Christians don't like the Masons, because the Masons believe in freedom of choice and don't push any religion on their members. Because they don't demand belief in Christ, then they are evil according to most responses here. Most of the people replying are against any form of freedom of religion.
Masons don't care what church you belong to, as long as you believe in one God. Masons preach tolerance and respect for others beliefs, no one tells a Mason whats he should believe or how they should pray.

The Freemasons is not like a club, you have to be invited, but they are an organisation based on Christian beliefs so I don't see a problem

NO! NO! NO!
Freemasonry is a cult dealing a lot with the occult. MY hubbie has researched this a lot and it's most definitely not a good thing for a Christian to do.
Ironically, if you join the Masons the first thing they tell you to do is find a church and join it. Gives them a nice front.
