Yes silly i know but i cant open the bonnet, i have been able to fine before now when i turn the key left once and right twice it dosent unhook the bonnect its like the mechanism is jammed. I need to get to the engine for obvious reasons!

Yes i mean hood although im english and hood is the american word for bonnet!

Sound like it's jammed, try bouncing your bum on the bonnet a time or two before opening it. Ford has a technical service bulletin on this problem a dealer service department can tell you the best fix.

There is no lever in the car. You need the key to open the bonnet, the lock is behind the ford badge on the front of the car which spins upwards from the right hand side. There is a diagram behind the badge, as you have to turn the key to the left, then the right, for the bonnet to open. Don't forget to remove the key once you have the bonnet safely propped open! You let the bonnet slam shut, you don't need to lock it with the key afterwards.

By bonnet do you mean the hood?
