My cat purrs/meow differntly when she is around my Moms cat, then she has another purr/meow when she sees food, birds etc. whats the difference? Also my cat (dixie) bites alot, is there anything I can do for her to stop that? Is she being mean or are they love bites?

Sometimes they bite for play, but not hard (she scratches you with the teeth but she doesn't actually put her teeth in your flesh deep). If she bites hard it means she is angry - or hungry. As for purring, I never noticed they have different purrs, but definitely they have different meows, like we have different words!

well i know cats purr and meow different when they are in heat, so that might be what it is because it is mating season, also the things is that you never know how long it will take your cat, she lasts as long as that drive for a mate is gone.... so good luck with that, i've been there well actually i still am, and i have like 5 cats... bye :o)
