For some reason my computer recently stopped being able to play .AVI videos.?

.avi use lots of different codecs. If you don't have a compatible one, it won't play. If you cannot play an .avi file that you used to, it is probable that the codec has been deleted.

go to www.divx.com and download the codec.

try and get a codec for it. try xvid.
