My daughter has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for a few years now. Her blood work is off the charts. She has seen a Rhumologist , Hemotologist and of course her primary. Does anyone know of a way for her to help herself. I'm thinking a specialist, specific blood work (she's had cfs work) doctor, reading material etc.? She has also been on the typical medications but continues to suffer. Thanks.

When the world of doctors and drugs continues to fail you ,why not look to a nutritionist-- your daughter MUST have vitamin deficiencies-- it is amazing what a good diet and vitamins can cure.

You should say what bloodwork is off the charts. That will determine the course of treatment. CFS can be caused by many different conditions. Has thyroid and cortisol been checked? And what are these "typical medications" that she has tried? You really need to give a lot more info.

Pl. ask her to read (or read and help her)

From Fatigued to Fantastic!: A Proven Program to Regain Vibrant Health, Based on a New Scientific Study Showing Effective Treatment for Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia (Paperback) by Jacob Teitelbaum (Author). "CHRONIC FATIGUE AND IMMUNE DYSFUNCTION syndrome (abbreviated CFIDS or CFS) is a group of symptoms associated with severe, almost unrelenting fatigue..." (more) The book is available at www.amazon.com and I found it quite informative. The ISBN numbers are : ISBN-10: 1583330976
ISBN-13: 978-1583330975

Please also ask her to look at homeopathy, Bach Flowers, Reiki etc.

i have it mildly... :/

and i'm sorry but the best thing is just to rest.. as i'm sure you already no.. it is not one of those things that can be treated with medication...

have you ever heard of the lightening process? It is expensive and does not work for everyone.. and could make her worse with all of the stress.... but it has had some good results... if you are deperate.. It is worth looking into..

if you are from the uk.. she should sign up to.. www.ayme.org.uk
is she hasn't already..
there is a forum with lots of other people with chronic fatigue..its good..

Has your daughter been tested for Lyme disease? A lot of times CFS is misdiagnosed.
