Your symptoms suggest a dose increase. It's quite normal for your dosage to be adjusted every 6-8 weeks at first until you find the optimal dosage. I suggest you learn as much as you can about being hypothyroid, so that your doctor doesn't undermedicate you. TSH should always be done first thing in the morning and it should be below 2.0, Keep track of this.
I'll post some thyroid links below.

When you commence medication for hypothyroidism, it may take a few weeks to determine the exact maintenance dose that you need to restore thyroid function to its proper level. Once this is accomplished, you should be able to cruise on that dose, indefinitely, all other things remaining unchanged. However, it's best to have a blood test maybe once a year to confirm that your thyroid level is still where it should be.
I have had a mildly underactive throid for about 30 years, and initially it took about six weeks to confirm the optimum dose of my thyroid medication. I continue to take the exact same dose today.
If you don't tell the doctor about the way you feel, how's he going to know? Talk to him and ask for a blood check to determine whether, and how much, you need to increase your present dose.

Hi! Don't be discouraged! They haven't even really "kicked in" yet...It typically takes about 6 weeks to make a change if you are taking a synthetic like Synthroid or Levothyroxine. The natural thyroid Armour will work a lot faster. If you don't start feeling better in the next few weeks ask your doc to check your T3 and T4 again!

No, they don't lose effectiveness. May be the dosage needs to be readjusted. Check with the doctor and if needed, get the blood test done.
