Even if you assume that they all have resolutions, which you do, why are there so many things that NEED resolutions. Why are there so many things that appear to be contradictions?

Most bible contradictions appear to be contradictions because THEY ARE.

I'm not going to give examples because then you will defend the examples instead of answering the real question. You can do a Google search to find them.

Ever wondered why fiction is always full of contradictions? Keeps the subject interesting and keeps people involved, good or bad, otherwise no one would bother with religion.

It comes down to faith. Not faith that EVERYTHING is true but there are elements. Think of it this way. If you read the Bible from cover to cover, rather than getting hung up on all the details, take the general idea of it. Eternal life, God, faith, love, prayer, (don't murder, lie, cheat, steal) etc. Also remember that what we read now has been translated several times through people that may or may not have added their own 'spin'. Again, it's the general idea. Christianity encompasses Baptists, Methodists, Catholics and so forth where different details influence the religion but as a whole, we have the same beliefs.

Obviously those of us who believe are never going to not believe. I do not believe there are contradictions. Are there things that I do not completely understand sure does that mean I am going to drop my faith of course not. I do not know why the TV works but I still watch it people try to explain to me why the TV works and I still do not completely get it. So do I fully understand every word in the Bible of course not but do I believe it with my whole heart absolutely. The thing is if I die and I find out that I was wrong I guess that it does not matter. I guess I just lived my life trying to do right and there is certainly nothing wrong with that

If we were to set a certain point that a story had to many contradictions, no one would ever pick up any book again, so really what is truth, I can tell you it is only found in the beholder, and can only be assumed that it is truth, it is man that has caused conflicts, and contradictions for what is truth, and what is not truth, and he continues to seek truth to no avail in today's society, it is mans fear of the bible that causes him to find conflict, and criticize the bibles contents it's his fear that it just might be truth.

What contradictions? Some of it may be from two different writers giving the same basic story.
Are you implying there aren't any contradictions in history books or even in science?
Viewpoints change but the concept and principles remain the same.

As an ex-Catholic, the answer I had in Catholic tradition class in University was this: the Church takes a scientific/historic view of the bible. There is no such thing as literal interpretation. The doctrine would state that some 'stories' are meant to teach us something but didn't actually happen...it was a shocking revelation when I heard it!

Sorry, I've been a Christian most of my life, I'm 51, and I have yet been shown any contridictions or errors.
When you consider that the Bible was written by over 20 different people of all walks of life, over hundreds of years, it is amazing how accurate it is. I suggest you read it with a different attitude and you will be amazed at what you will learn.

for one, many contradictions in the bible are due to the addition and deletion of verses by the popes and high officials of the church. in the Qu'ran, however, all alleged contradictions are countered, and the Qu'ran does not have any true contradictions. look at any two pages in the Bible and there is a good chance of finding a contradiction!

Excellent question. It's one of the reasons I stopped believing.
I found the contradictions, and tried to find a way that would logically resolve them. I could not do it without truly twisting everything into a pretzel to make it work.
