after 6-8 weeks your body will go through a phase where you cant lose for a couple weeks but if you stick to it youll loose a bunch after you get through that period and youll lose for another 6-8 weeks and it goes in cycles like that

As long as you continue taking in less calories than you're burning, you will start losing weight again, but if it's been longer than 2 weeks, (about the maximum length for a body adjusting plateau), than you need to cut calories some more.
You're not tracking what you're eating properly.
Switch from the weight watchers plan to The Logic Diet Stage 4.
This plan shows you just how to adjust for plateaus and teaches you how to track calories the right way.

You have reached a plateau. Your body actually adjusts itself to a specific routine.
I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which allows the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.

Good LUCK!

I've been going to Curves for 6 months, the first 4 months I went 5 days a week for 30-45 minutes, now I go 3 times a week for 45 minutes. I've only lost 7 lbs but I've lost several inches. Is this happening to you? I was told to increase my exercises either with speed or repetitions and to lower my caloric intake.

sometimes you hit a plateau,,,, while your body adjusts,,,,, you will probably start losing again,,, also, are you exercising, there are times that for a little while,,, the muscle build up equals the weight (fat ) lost, so the scale really doesnt change much,,,,,, i would suggest staying on your diet,,,, add in exercise if your not, or continue if you are and perhaps add in a little more ,,,,, and pay more attention to inches,, waist /hips etc, then you do pounds for awhile

You have hit a platu (spelling). That means at the current regimine, you probably won't lose any more weight. Try increasing your exercise and decreasing your caleries more.
