Just getting started, but I wanted to get website suggestions OTHER than David's Bridal (we have one here, and I can look in person).

Also - what would be a universally flattering shape for a dress? My bridesmaids range from 5'2" size 4 to 5'11" size 8 to 5'6" size 14...lots of variation. I would like for all of the dresses to be the same.

Thanks!

Having JUST picked my bridesmaids dresses and my dress as well, I can say that it wasn't has hard as I thought it would be (granted I only have 3 maids). I was smart - I told them they could pick separates in any variation of the colors I wanted. I left it completely up to them! I went with them on two trips, the first to Davids - a total flop. Their dresses look better in the books and online than in person - kind of cheap and not a lot of selection when you get down to it. All of my maids are tall like me, one 5"9 and two 5'10 so we wanted long skirts, at David's their dresses came to their ankles without heels and we were told they couldn't lengthen the ones we were looking at. Long story short, we ended up buying from Alfred Angelo - again they chose separates since every woman's body is different. They picked the same skirt with the same color top but two got off the shoulders and one got strapless. Alfred Angelo's had a lot of selection and what I like is that every dress in their store comes in any size from 2 - 28w. Plus, when my maids bought their dress I got $75 off my dress (paid $300 for it!) and they got $50 off theirs because I bought mine when they got theirs. Their dresses were $125 and nice. Check them out www.alfredangelo.com. I hope there is one near you. Congrats and good luck.

Depending on your wedding budget and whose paying for the dresses, it is coming up on prom time, so I would check places like www.ewindsor.com or other classy dress makers and even your local upscale department stores. As far as the dress shape, try looking for a A-line skirt that's not too full with a nice bodice. This cut will give height to your size 4, slim your size 14 and simply flatter your size 8. Hope this helps!

I would suggest you go to a place like Ann Taylor. They have dresses that you can use as Bridesmades dresses and in a multitude of sizes. This way they will have the same dress and they might look half way decent in them.

hi, i think of that allowing them to choose diverse varieties with a similar shade/fabric is an spectacular theory. the only concern I ought to help you comprehend is that maximum bridal shops do no longer carry very many sizes. Like they are going to easily carry length 10 and additionally you need to attempt on the kind you chosen in that length (whilst you're smaller, you are able to attempt to clip it smaller yet that fairly in simple terms looks ok for some varieties). So it fairly is extra effectual that your BMs already comprehend what varieties look reliable on them...if no longer, in line with hazard you are able to flow to a branch shop and examine out on diverse varieties like halter neck, strapless, etc and then flow to the bridal shop. i'm a BM for an upcoming wedding ceremony and we are ordering from Alfred Angelo separates sequence. all of us have a similar tea length skirt in one shade, and then we chosen our very own suitable in a similar shade through fact the skirt. i've got no longer tried David's Bridal yet whilst they actually do have each and all of the outfits in inventory like somebody pronounced, that is a extra effectual place to start up.
