Christians are people who believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and died for all of our sins. Most people who are Christians, remain Christians their whole life. However, all Christians and non-Christians are sinners. Oftentimes their sins separate them from God which affects their faith. When this happens, Christians fall off the "road to God", and fall away from their faith. Devoted Christians know that in order to have a loving relationship with God, it takes daily work, constant repentance of sins, and a 24-7 awareness of the ways in which God expects us to live. (In the world we live in today, this is extremely difficult and takes a lot of discipline to resist temptation. It's harder than ever to be a Christian today, however, the rewards of Christianity are well worth the hard work and devotion.)

I've been a Christian for about 28 years. I did have a time where I back-slid; still, I was bothered by my negligence of God and even worshipping Him in church. God had a way of making me stumble...to wake me up and do the correct thing. Happily, I am on a fast track in spiritual maturity in Christ for the past 2 years as a result of a little boy - friend - who has overcome cancer -- by God's miracle.
Christians or not, we are all sinners. True Christians, however, ought to be bothered by sin and try to repent. Others may have been Christians only in their own mind. Remember, the Lord says that on the day of judgement, many will say, "Lord!" But the Lord does not know them. Alot of church-goers and do-gooders will find themselves with the murders, adulterers, etc because works do not save us...only faith ...faith in Christ for everything will save us. Christ already paid our price with His life. We are called to simply have faith...but - Ohhh - how difficult that is for the world!

religious life its like a path, so at certain levels of love, comprehension, care, and else, for God and his word, many recognizes the mistake there were in and try to go one step up until reaching the truth
We could say that the stair begins in catholic, then protestant, and else, but only a few, gives steps back, coz, i dont really know no chrisitan that became catholic, or no jew who became christian.

Coz they're the ones who actually scrutinise the religion, and doing that, the religion just doesn't make sense anymore!

It's not like if there were no God. Some call that apostasy.
