I am in the process of RCIA classes and I have been hearing things about this costing money, mind you NO ONE has come out and told us that this would cost any money at all. From what I am reading, the cost is based on your income and or ability to pay, will the church request our financial documents to base our cost on? I am hearing it is about $700.00 and both my hubby and I are seeking annulments and we just can drop $1400.00 on this. Why does it even cost money to join a church, and this on top of all the blessed paperwork that we have to do and the waiting. Why is it so hard to join the Catholic church?

Talk to your priest about this. I don't know if there are costs, and if there are, I'm sure they aren't much.

As far as joining, that part costs nothing. Baptism and Confirmation are free graces from God. This is separate from the annulment process.

Continue with your studies. I went through RCIA two years ago and it was the best decision of my life.

God bless and welcome home.

it is just a way for the catholic church to make money... who are they? God? no... an annulment is their way of saying... pay a penance and you get to have them 'decree' that you were never married... and yet, you were, right? it isnt up to them to forgive .... i will not be part of a church who requires fees or rules or duties taht are NOT even part of the Word of God... .just man made pharisee junk!
