I have a 1999 ford taurus which has keyless entry. I have one remote and picked up another from a different taurus which was totaled. How do I go about programing it to work with my car?

SOME of the above answers are mostly correct, however, there are 2 important facts missing:

#1 flip the remotes over & make sure they have identicle part numbers on them, Not ALL Fords use the exact same remotes.

#2 You must program ALL existing (up to 4) remotes at the same time, or else you will "knock out" the codes of any other remotes not present.

you can try to cycle the key in the ignition from off to on 8-10 times within 10 seconds, do not start the car. After doing this the door lock should cycle from locked to unlocked by themselves. Once the door locks cycle, press the lock or unlock button on the remote, the car should respond according to the button pressed. I'm not sure if this is going to work on this car but its worth the shot

Turn the key off and on fast for 4 times leaving the key in the on position, doors should lock and unlock to get access, then press the lock button on 1 remote, then the next, after that turn the key off, then try them

Cycle your key from off to on 8 times. Door locks will cycle, push any button on remote that IS programmed, then push any button on remote that IS NOT programmed. Turn key to off. Door locks will cycle again. VOILA, you are done. And no, they DO NOT have to be the same part number, as long as they are compatible.

I think you have to put the key in the ignition, switch it rapidly from off to on several times ( I think is 5 time but it may be 10 ) and stop in the on position. then push the button on the remote.

get in the car and shut the door roll down driver side window and put your key in the ingnition. now switch off on off on back and forth slowly but no to slow just so when the door locks cycle you can leave the key in the on position. when this is done hit the lock button on the key fob and them unlock and you should be in business

TAKE BOTH KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTES AND PUT THEM UP YOUR BUTT FOR THREE DAYS. THEN THEY WILL WORK TOGETHER
