The Bible say Jesus died for us on the cross. He died and rose from the dead to give us life. And was also he was seen after he rose by as many as 500 people.

After Jesus rose from the tomb , He remained on earth for another 40 days and then ascended to heaven where He now sits on His throne at the right hand of God

Acts 1:9-11
After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight. 1:10 As they were still staring into the sky while he was going, suddenly two men in white clothing stood near them 1:11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you saw him go into heaven.”

The simple answer is that he is dead since no one has ever risen from the dead or lived to be over 2000 years old. The rest is just silly myth,too bad we still live with ancient superstitions after all this time.

Jesus hang out on Earth a while, and then ascended into Heaven from the Mount of Olives.

He ascended to Heaven and is sitting at the right hand of the Father, testifying on behalf of those who have accepted Him as their Saviour, and waiting for the day when God sends Him for the second coming (which only GOD knows the time & day that will occur.)

Jesus ascended to heaven to join God the Father. Jesus also left his Holy Spirit to dwell with us on earth so Jesus' spirit (Holy Spirit,Comforter) is actually on earth with us today.
