There was no named woman that was stoned to death. In the words of the Bible there was a "woman known to be a harlot" that a crowd was about to stone when Jesus stated "let he who is without sin cast forth the first stone." When everyone in the crowd dropped their stones he then said "since they have not condemned you, neither shall I."
Mary of Magdala is often confused with this woman as they are mentioned close to each other within the text. There is no real proof that they are the same though. Mary was a female apostle, the "harlot", was another woman.
For the record harlot did not necessarily mean prostitute, the Hebrew word just means unsavory or sinful.

You must be reading a new version of the Bible. I believe you're referring to the woman caught in adultery who was brought to Jesus for Him to decided whether she should be stoned or not. Many Biblical scholars believer this woman to be Mary Magdalene. She was accused of adultery and the penalty was stoning, but she was never stoned. Jesus responded to the Pharisees accusations with: "Whoever is free of sin may cast the first stone".

That's said. Such a simple question and so many wrong answers - although they could have used the internet o look it up first. mary magdalene was NOT stoned.
The book of John will show you that there a lady that the Pharisees intended to stone, but Jesus stopped them.
Remember the phrase, "Let he, who is without sin, cast the first stone."

It was Mary Magdalene but she wasn't stoned. That was when Jesus stepped in and said "let whoever is without sin cast the first stone."

There was a woman that was going to be stoned but Christ first said, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." Everyone had to walk away

Jesus saved the Adultress in John 8. It is generally accepted that this was Mary Magdalene.
Neither do I condemn thee, Go and sin no more -John 8:11.
This is an important lesson. The wicked are convicted by what they do. Mohammed should have learned from this. It is surprising that the Angel Gabriel didn't tell him such an important thing. I think this speaks volumes to the validity of his claims!
And, if I was to reject him for ONE reason, this would be it.

There was a woman who the Pharisees wanted to stone, but Christ intervened and stopped it. She is not identified.
For those who are saying Mary of Magdalene, please cite the Bible passage.

You're probably thinking of Mary-Magdalene, but she didn't get stoned. Just stated those amazing words, "He who is without sin, casteth the first stone."
