I was friends with this person, not anymore because he seems to be critisize everything about me. We're both kind of young and im way ahead of him financially. I bought a BMW. This guy tells me cool car. Then behind my back hes telling everyone im a piece of crap and how could I have ever afforded it. Keep in mind this guy dosent drive and cant afford any car. He even went as far as going on a car site we frequent and telling everyone the new BMW I drive is a piece of **** and driven by low lives. He seems to have developed an obsession with this car and me. Its beautiful car and im very happy with it and people mention it a lot in this forum i frequent and whenever it comes up he makes a bad comment like you shouldnt be proud to drive one of those, i wouldnt be telling people. It seems no matter what i buy or any quality about me he slams. If its not my car, its my house, my life, my personality, nothing is off limits. Yet the guy has nothing. Why does he do this?

He is jealous of u obviously.
Just ignore him and dont play along with his childish game.
He is making an *** out of himself.....and these antics are very childish.
Lose him as a friend and dont snoop to his level by letting it get to u or replying to his pathetic comments.
Grow up and let it roll of ur back. If he sees it doesnt bother u, then it wont be as fun to him. He is doing it because he is getting a reaction from u.
Dont feed him.
Good luck.

He's insecure and jealous. Some people respond to that type of charcter defect by putting others down in order to build themselves up. Ignore him...consider the source. He'll eventually leave you alone and prey on another soul.

He does it because he's jealous of you and too stupid to achieve what you have achieved. My question to you is why you hang around with a low life like that? What's in it for you?

Easy question: he's jealous. Duh.
That said, how have you been as a friend? Do you rub it in his face that you are more successful? Do you treat him with respect? It sounds like you are rather materialistic. Perhaps you have not been a very good friend. I'm not saying you haven't, but think about it. How you treat other people often mirrors back in how they treat you.
Either way, it is time for both of you to move on. All friendships do not last forever. It's a shame, but that's life. Good luck, and congratulations on your success!
