There are no Al-quaeda bases around Kabul. They did a runner when the northern aliance entered the south of the country.

To be honest, Bases for Al qaeda just reffers to grouping of people, wether they are on ground, in huts, or in the middle of river. I dont think there will be any sign such as building left in Afghanistan which could be classified as base.
There were already few structures called as buildings. Not anymore.

al-qaedais not a military force but an idealistic,religeos, terrorist faction,it deos not need bases only a meens of communication.
