She sent me to my room and won't speak to me now. She was supposed to be having a party for my 50th birthday next week but i bet thats cancelled. How can i get back in her good books?

I should think she was just glad it was a lady doll rather than a man doll!
Tell her it was a surprise gift for her - might be a bit too big for the display canbinet though.

There is really nothing you can do, ecspecially when your 50 years old. Ummmm, maybe you should move out or something, then you wouldn't have to worry about what comes in the mail. I also don't think it was a accident that your mother opened your mail.
