It could be, i would recommend a trip to the opticians so they can check it out further.

A Lie? U mean this might be his Guilty Conscience tapping at him!!!! Oh I wish more men had that! hehe..
I get these alot..
usually it is due to eye strain in which case he might need glasses or a different prescription... or just rest
sometimes its sinuses - They get backed up and seem to hurt all in my face but mostly behind my eyes....
-Migraines can be hard to diagnose.... I would not think this is what they are- alot of people think any reoccuring headache is a migraine or any pain of the eye or light sensativity ... only the dr can say if its migraines... I would eliminate the first two options first....
I hope he feels better That pain is no fun

Your headaches are not typical of migraine, but there is not enough information to state with certainty that they are not. The location suggests a sinus origin, but in the case of sinus headaches 'rubbing' the eyes should not make a difference. As these headaches are worst when faced with 'really bright lights' it may be an ocular (eye) problem. A brief history and simple physician examination should be able to determine which of these is the cause.

Sounds more like a cluster headache. If it continues over a long period of time and or painkillers don't relieve it, the doc maybe able to prescribe something. Btw is your hubby having a lie in for a specific reason such as partaking of the demon drink!! Not an accusation I was just thnking about the lie in\headache connection. He may be dehydrated in the morning and possibly needs to drink more clear fluids. Headaches can often be a symptom of dehydration, and not just because of alcohol. Hope he gets better soon.xx

i have suffered the same problem for years.every time i slept longer than usual i woke with a migraine and ended up being sick.
i eventually found out from a health mag that when we sleep the brain is flooded with a chemical that makes us feel rested and refreshed when we wake.but if you sleep for longer than normal then you can get too much of this chemical in your brain and it causes a headache or worse a migraine.
i find the best medication is ibuprofen as it reduces swollen blood vessels in the brain and the pain subsides.
god luck and hope this is helpful.

Pounding behind one eye is one of the classic symptoms of cluster headache. Another is having a runny nose, but only on one side.
Also, with migraines the instinct is to lie down in a quiet, dark place. With clusters, the instinct is to pace or move, but not to lie down, because it hurts too bad to just lie still.
If it is proving to be debilitating for your husband, have him meet w/ his doctor and describe what's going on, and see if he can be prescribed something like imitrex for it. Also keep track of when they come on and what you've eaten/done/been exposed to before one starts, to see if you can find a connection that can be avoided. Like alcohol, or chocolate, or wood dust, any number of things.

you have to rule out a few things, he will have to go for a eye test as this could be causing it, eye strain will give you a headache......
does he have a good nights sleep or is it interrupted by dreams etc........this could cause a head ache, take some night nurse the night before if this is the case and get him to have a good nights sleep.....
has he got any troubles he will be turning over in his head at night this could coarse stress before he wakes up...
if none of the above he needs to go to the doctors for a check to make sure every think is OK..... good luck x

Always desirable to get it checked out as it is possible to get a growth behind the eye socket that could be causing it. Unlikely, but best to be safe.

Yeah it sounds like one, try not to over sleep at any time as that makes you feel groggy too. Sit in a dark room and wait for it to go away. Paracetamol will sort it out.

It sounds like it may be a migraine...does he feel a bit sick with it or see lights or anything? That would be a typical migraine.
