cuz the other person is not ready for that type of emotional expression
for me for instance i have dated girls who fell for me
they began to tell me how much they loved me and that freak me out cuz i didnt want that type of relationship with them

When you say "I love you" - you say it in a romantic setting. You say it because you mean it. The feeling is mutual and you know it long before you even say it. Do not blurt it out like calling out "Hey". It could be a shocking experience. That is crude.
It is a tender, sensitive time to let the other person know how you feel.
Don't yell out these words when you are sitting in the toilet in a camp site. It is just as rediculous as that. LoL -
