I would like to know how much photographers earn for a living. If you are a photographer please let me know how much you earn and your career of choice in photography. Also, what level of education was necessary? It would be greatly appreciated. :)

It really depends on what type of photography you are doing and where. A college education is very helpful if not necessery when looking for a job. right out of college i started making 32,000/yr. and a year after college i was making 38,000/yr. i'm in the commercial business. most people out of college make around 27,000 i believe. It takes a while to start baking the big bucks.

1. you don't need any formal photographic courses or degrees. You would be better off taking a couple of short courses in marketing and small business. 2. In the UK there is no requirement for a model release to have pictures published and definitely none required for your portfolio. 3. a selection of about a dozen of your best 4 8x10 will do 5. if you are planning on using the images commercially then you will need permission. 6. Yes you edit your images if required. your portfolio should show the images at their best. DON'T stick copyright across them. If you want then a discreet signature/watermark will do. 7. Who knows, I have not seen your work so don't know if it is marketable. But you can certainly try Lastly, ignore Martin Spooner. There is loads of work out there for talented people who have the necessary business skills to make a success of it.

it depends ... you should start out with small jobs so you can get references! go to a karate school and ask if they would like a proffessional take pics of their grading for the parents! you can charge per package like the pics you get in school 20.00 -35-40
thats per student ... guessing at least 10-20 per class that is not a bad start ! and include one group shot one action shot and one of them recieving their belt ! most karate schools dont have this! and Ballet schools and cheerleading schools the list can go on... Just remember YOU pic the pics and make the packages. this is a good practice! i think i'll even do it!
:)
