This is a reference to being drunk in the Holy Spirit. The euphoria of being overcome by the Holy Spirit is likened to being intoxicated. It also creates a hunger (addiction) for more of the same experience because of the feelings of joy and peace that are produced.

It means that he gets that same high elated feeling when listening to the praises of God as someone who drinks or takes drugs

As long as your mind is clear,whit-in the though you which for God to understand what do you which to mean in an effort to make sense of what your own understanding will allow for HIM(God), to become into you, there is some essences in some of the words, we which for God to manage and understand for us?, while there is a luck of understanding man have use, misuse and in some instances with some wrong intentions to make a profit? as long as the word you use can described HIM(God), Omnipotent, his (Theirs) omnipresence's will be there, with Jesus, which is more human that we are, so HIM, within Jesus, will understand exactly what you mean, and your friend also.

It's an interesting point because serotonin and dopamine are released in the brain during "spiritual" experiences and when taking narcotics so it raises the question is the spiritual experience really just a chemical experience?
