Hi Ped_kia82!

No one wants to try to have a conversation with a fluffy fur ball trying to jump on them or sit on their lap.

Sometimes this sort of problem arises because a puppy thinks he is in charge of the home. He thinks he is 'Lord of the Manor' and everyone should be pleased to have him on their laps! Dogs usually develop this attitude when they do not feel that a leader has been clearly defined in the home. These canines are more than happy to step into the role as the alpha male and do things at their whim and fancy.

The most important thing you can do when you bring your puppy home is to send him the signal that you are the leader of his pack
One of the first steps to achieving this is to have your pet rely on you for his food. Please look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Does_Your_Dog_Have_An_Irritating_Jumping_Habit/

Your puppy will be with you for the rest of his life. You owe it to you and your guests (and even your dog!) to teach him how to interact and get along socially with humans.

Training is the best method. You can try the treat training. When someone comes over and he starts jumping on him you say no very firmly. Almost a yell. When he stops Say good dog and give him a small treat. He will realize that if he does not jump on people he will get a treat. You might have to do this for a couple of weeks depending how often you have guests over.

Your dog jumps on people because he is excited. When you come home, you should start ignoring your dog...and not rewarding his excitement with kisses and petting and attention. If you have treated your dog this way since you've known him, you've conditioned him to be excited and jump up on you.

So, start by walking through the door and when your dog comes running turn away from him and ignore him. Don't speak, don't look him in the eye, just turn away and walk away. Once he has settled down, you can great him and praise him for being calm. He'll learn that being submissive will gain him reward in excitable situations.

Keep your dog on a lead and attach it to somewhere if you're in the house, then he won't be able to move. Do this everytime someone comes round and he'll learn not to do it. Also reward him with treats.
If your dog jumps up on people while you're walking, tug sharply on his lead and keep repeating until he doesn't do it anymore. Also reward him with treats again

Training. When he jumps up on people tell him "down" and then "sit". You can alos have the person he jumps up on tell him as well. With time, training and consistency, he will learn that it is not acceptable to jump up on people.

restrain your dog when people enter or come up to him/her. if you can not what we use to do was keep a knee up and say no & sit when the dog runs up. this way he gets the sense of it's a bad thing since i keep running into a knee.

it worked really well for our pass dog. and the new pup that is learning not to jump unless command to do so.

tell the people to ignore him, and everytime he goes to jump put your knee up so that he bumps into it. it won't feel to good to him so eventually he will stop. at least he doesn't pee when he gets excited like my old dog. RIP

Try saying no and giving him a flick on the nose. Don't hit him to hard just a simple flick will annoy him.
