Oh yes, it has been. It has been changed dramatically, and follows nothing that Jesus taught. He helped the poor and the sick, and taught people to not condemn or judge others. He taught fairness and equality, not intolerance.

the idea that anyone can hijack a religion is kind of ludicrous don't you think? In the bible Christ says where one or more is gathered in my name there shall I be. I tend to think organized religion is a pox on any ones faith. Most people tend to gravitate to groups that have the same beliefs or moral values they have. What we have occurring in the United States is a majority of people fed up with special interest groups who are in the minority but have the financial backing to force laws thru that run counter to the values of the majority of the people. The constitution was based on the principle of one nation under God which implies the virtue of Christian values. If the country is truly 75 to 80 per cent Christian then I don't believe it has been hijacked but has reached a point where the majority is trying to turn back to what has made this country strong both morally and militarily.

No, it wasn't a hijacking. The Christians handed it over gleefully. They are trained to follow people who make empty religious claims.
