There are things worth risking your life for in order to make the world a better place for your descendants. There also is a duty to country.

I would not be wild about fighting in Iraq...and what I see as a war to secure a military base to help the Saudis....but if the fundamentalists ever tried changing certain fundamental things about our nation....

yes....I woukld willingly risk my life to fight them.

It depends on what the war was about and how much choice I had in the matter. I wouldn't fight in the name of any religion or just blind nationalism, but perhaps for a good cause.

Sometimes losing a war is more dangerous than fighting it. There are causes worth fighting for.

I have served my country via the U.S. Navy.
I did it because I wanted to protect my fellow citizens and to insure a safe place for my descendants. I would not want to have been in the military for this Iraqi invasion. I believe it is a violation of all the principles upon which this country was founded.
