Bishop Usher was the man who stated that the world was 6,000 years old. I believe that he was introduced to "Funny Mushrooms" because only someone who was completely out of it could come up with something like that

I stand corrected about the term LSD maybe a more general term like hallucenogenic may be better, was trying to illustrate a point

Mr. James Ussher was using the Bible as his reference. Not drugs. But this was long before we discovered more scientific ways to date fossils and such.

Actually, if it was the mushroom it would be psilocybin, not LSD. Also I doubt his was the first recorded case, just read Ezekiel.
The first recorded case of LSD use was Albert Hofmann, you can read all about it in his book "My Problem Child"
