Well, you do get a 30-days visa-free stay in Thailand on your entry and what you can do is at the end of the 30 days, hop over to Laos or Cambodia for a visit and re-enter Thailand with a fresh 30-days visa.

Or else you can buy a 60-day visa from the Thai Embassy which is convenient.

Go to the Thai Embassy in your city/country and apply for one. It usually is an automatic thing. Once you get to the aiirport in Bangkok, go to the immigration office (at the airport) and ask for an extention of another 30 days and you can stay here for 90 days on a tourist visa.
