If 2 parents work and get tax credit how much do they pay towards childcare

As long as you still have the time to raise your kids right and take care of them, I don't see the problem in it.

It is such a catch 22 situation isn't it?

Why not stay at home but plan a timetable for your week so that each day you have things to do. Include some fun things that you can do with your child, eg. swimming, mother and toddler groups, meet someone for coffee and a chat. Maybe even take a class once a week and pay for childcare just for that couple of hours...I found that really helped me. It was nice to use my brain in an intellectual manner and it also helped me develop more skills for when I did eventually get back to work. It's a great confidence booster too.

Best wishes

HI

If your boyfriend has a good job it seems a little pointless for you to go back if it would cost all of your wages to have some one look after the children.

As a mum that also stayed at home with the children, I enrolled on evening college courses that way my other half could look after the children and I got to talk to adults and gained qualifications for when I went back to work. I also ventured into day time college where there was a creche for the children.

hope this helps I know days can get quite long without adult conversation. My children are now 19 and 17 and I wonder where the time has gone. I was glad of the time i spent with them.

Why don't you do a college course and/or go onto university? If you don't need to work it is ideal for you. Spend 3 or 4 years training for a job that will pay better than your average job and then affording chid care will be so much easier. Training will give you something to do with your time and something to aim for. I am in this situation and it's one of the best decisions I ever made. Do it now while your children are still young and when they get older it will be so much easier to work. Good luck!
