In many European countries you would certainly have problems, where the two documents are needed.

But it will also depends on the sytem of writing names into the passport in your country. If the surname is written at the end, then your current passport will cause problem. If, on the other hand, surname is written at the begining, with a full stop, and then the remaining names with coma, you should have no problem between the two documents.

Here are two examples:

Narayanan. Sudhish Kumar,

and

Narayanan Sudish Kumar.

Your degree certificate seems to have your names in normal order. Hence, I would try to clear with the passport.

DO NOT TAKE THE ADVISE GEVEN BY THE ABOVE PERSON OF PUTTING A STICKER. THAT WILL BE FORGERY!

The names are so similar that I really wouldn't worry about it. If you are worried that they might misunderstand, write a neat post-it note and stick it on the degree itself, or of any copies you send out, explaining the extra N, and why it's there. No employer or university will have a problem with it.

Good luck on your further education and / or job hunting!
